If you’re looking for a gentle, nourishing connection with nature, Friends of Vallis is a great place to start.

Members’ days are every Thursday and the last Saturday of the month. We welcome members to enjoy the quieter, day to day rhythm of the farm, take time to wander through the gardens, watch the seasons shift and benefit from the revitalising atmosphere at the farm.

You’ll find peaceful seating areas dotted around the site which are perfect for reading, journalling, or simply soaking up the space. There is even a book swap box for sharing stories with your fellow Friends.

The Natural Pool

Wild Swim and Sauna sessions are available on member’s days, as well as some early morning swim-only sessions throughout the week and are booked via the members’ page. Swimmers must be 16+.

Monday & Wednesday

• Swim Only: 7-10am

Members Days… Thursdays and The Second and Last Saturday of the Month*

• Swim Only: 7-9am & 3-6pm

• Swim and Sauna: 9-3pm

Popup Shop / Cafe

On member’s days we serve tea, coffee and cake as well as light lunches using produce from the farm. Soups, salads, cheese on toast are standard fare. We also sell fresh veg, eggs, preserves and other products. The shop/cafe will be outdoors under our stretch tent during Spring/Summer months then during the Autumn/Winter we’ll move to the farmhouse dining room where the fire will be a warm welcome.

Friends of Vallis are invited to join our WhatsApp group, where you’ll be the first to know about upcoming and member’s only events, have access to exclusive discounts and hear about anything new happening on the farm.

Under 16’s do not require membership and cannot use the pool nor sauna. They can however visit the farm with an accompanying member, free of charge.

🌱 Are dogs allowed?
No sorry we have too many other animals on the farm.

🌱 Are kids allowed?
Yes, absolutely… but they mustn’t go near the pool and are not allowed in the pool unless 16+. We have a large sandpit, a swing, and a mud kitchen, plus plenty of space for them to run around outdoors.

🌱 Is the pool open all year round?
Yes, that is the plan.

🌱 Why isn’t the pool open more often / all the time?
The pool was built to increase the biodiversity of the farm. Overuse of the pool can be detrimental to the water quality (which we monitor closely), which in turn can have an affect on the wildlife there.

Vallis Farm is a Rubik’s Cube of moving parts.

This is Max - the owner’s home. We are a working market garden, people stay in our shepherd’s huts, events happening all year round, and we have on-going construction work. We are also have makers studios who run workshops and have visiting clients.

A lot of effort is made to help these moving parts work in harmony which means we don’t have capacity and staff to open the pool on a more full time basis.

🌱 How do I book swim and /or sauna?
When you sign up as a Friend of Vallis, you can book via the member’s page.

🌱 Can I bring a guest to swim?
Yes of course, you can bring up to 2 guests at a time - just add your guest(s) to your online booking.

🌱 Can I wear sunscreen?
Everyone must shower before getting into the pool and only the sunscreen we provide in the changing rooms can be used.

Membership is non-refundable but can be cancelled anytime so that no repeat payments are taken. Membership will remain valid until your renewal date.
